DREAMS SPORTS NFL 2012 Awards

When was the last time the National Football League seen a season like this one? Were two players, Peyton Manning and Adrian Peterson, bounce back from neck surgeries and knee injury respectfully, and now are the front runners for MVP and Come Back Player of the Year? Never!  What about the battle of Rookie of the Year coming down to three quarterbacks who all have their teams in the playoffs.  Never! How about a head coach who had a battle with Leukemia, but his assistance coach stepped in and did an outstanding job and now the Indianapolis Colts are in the playoffs? Never!  So there shouldn't be surprises with this year NFL Awards.

MVP-Peyton Manning
Who really knew Manning would make the Denver Broncos legitimate contenders this year?  Everything was in question about Manning from his arm strength; durability, to his mentally stability.  After their lost start (2-3) I’m sure Broncos fans were looking for Tebow to return.  Well, like that Chris Brown song “Look at me now” Manning has the Broncos a mile high on top of the AFC Conference and prime for a strong playoff run.

Comeback Player Of The Year-Adrian Peterson
Ask any person who has ever injured their ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) how difficult it is to bounce back to 100%.  Okay now ask a NFL runner-back to rush for 2,097 yards, missing the all-time record by nine yards, after having ACL surgery.  Adrian Peterson did just that.  Any other season he would have won MVP, without question, with those numbers.  Peterson season will never be forgotten.  The Minnesota Vikings are in the playoffs because of his amazing comeback this year.

Rookie Of The Year-Robert Griffin III (RG3)
No I didn’t vote for him solely on his last name, although it helps.  Griffin III as a rookie was fourth in quarterback passing rating. Lead the Washington Redskins on a number of fourth quarter comebacks.   His exciting play week in and week out had you tuning into the Redskins games once again.  His leadership skills are immeasurable.  Griffin III took on the rude and insensitive comments by ESPN Rob Parker calling him a ‘cornball brother’, too fans wanting Kirk Cousins to be the starter.  Through it all RG3 remained professional and a true winner!

Coach Of The Year-Bruce Arians
There could have been a few winners this year for Coach of The Year.  Leslie Frazier in Minnesota thanks to (Adrian) Peterson; Mike Shannahan in Washington for changing his system to allow RG3 the most opportunity for success; however I went with Bruce Arians of Indianapolis.  Arians keep one of the youngest teams together, lead by a rookie QB (Andrew) Luck, not to mention that Head Coach Chuck Pagano battle Leukemia.

Until next time, live out your DREAMS with some Determination, put forth Real Efforts and given your Abilities; Means you will have Success.

  1. I have to disagree with AP as the "Comeback" player because he only missed one game last year. Manning missed the whole season. AND I'm calling BS on Manning for MVP because he is piloting the same team that carried Tim Tebow to the second round of the playoffs last year. Aaron Rodgers has no running game, a poor O-Line(sacked a million times) and oft injured WR group and one of the worst defenses in the playoffs. C'MON MAN!!!!
